I didn't know that it took so long for WSFC to integrate. By 1964 they only planned to have 16 of 42 elementary schools desegregated. It seems like they did not do a lot in the years after the Supreme Court Decision.

I didn't know that Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools was originally two different school districts. I also had never heard about the story of Dr. Lillian B. Lewis, and found her to be fascinating.
